How To Test Your Ads For FREE

by Lewis Leake, Jr. -- Copyright © 2002

Have you ever written an ad for a newsletter and got absolutely no response. Not one click. Not one inquiry. Nothing!

You paid good money to the newsletter to run your ad. Now that money is gone and you have nothing to show for it.

Oh and it was a great ad. Your headline was excellent. The body had all the right words. It was just the perfect ad. No copywriter could have written it better.

It must have been the newsletter.

Isn't it funny how we always blame the newsletter when our ad fails. When in fact most of the times it's our ad. It just stunk. No one would click on that ad.

But what if you could test your ad before sending it off to the newsletter.

What if you could test it before you spend your money.

What if you could tweak the headline until it was irresistible. Tweak the body until it was perfect.

What if you could do all of that for FREE?

Well you can. Just use StartPageAds to do the testing.

As the name implies, StartPageAds is a Start Page but with a difference. Instead of showing web sites, StartPageAds shows ads. If your ad is interesting then someone will click on the headline which takes them to your website.

Create a great headline. Enter some click compelling info in the body and you're ready to test.

Then just start clicking so that your ad is shown to other clickers. You only have to view a page for 5 or 6 seconds so you can really rack up the credits in a short period of time. Try to get at least 200 or 300 credits.

Wait about an hour or so then log back into StartPageAds and check your statistics. You can see how many times your ad was viewed (displayed) and how many times your ad was clicked.

If you don't like the results then change the headline or the body. Reset your statistics and test again.

Let's say that your 200 StartPageAds credits were clicked on 8 times. That should mean that if you send your ad to a newsletter with 2000 subscribers then you should get around 80 visitors to your site. You might get more or less visitors depending on where your ad appears in the newsletter.

Now that your ad is working on StartPageAds, next put your ad on TrafficSwarm to get even more credits and hits.

Sure this takes time and effort but it beats sending an untested ad to a newsletter. At least you can be fairly certain that your ad works.

Okay, now submit your ad to some newsletters. Give it a try! You'll like the results.
