THE JOURNEY WITH A MENTOR

By Rozey Gean

Your entire life has been built around "someone to look up to". For many of us, that person was a parent, friend or relative. They have shared with our young minds, a view on life we had yet to experience; and truth be told, it was solid information which led you down a path to "who you are" today.

Your educators throughout your years inside the schoolhouse, were your mentors in your childhood development stages. Your sports coach not only taught you how to play the game, he also introduced teamwork and sportsmanship into your daily routine. Your Pastor molded your family values and counseled your children into adults who would instill the value of religion upon their children and so on . . .

As adults we are in no lessor need of a mentor than we were as children.

In business, the successful entrepreneurs learned the powerful impact a mentor could have in helping to balance their personal lives and their professional careers.

What is a mentor?

A mentor is someone that will become your partner in establishing a uniform business structure; or they may help you replace family havoc with harmony or balance. They are your sounding block and can be a cushion against stress. They will teach you the important aspects of customer relations, which help build character for your business; and they will provide you with efficient ways to accomplish more in less time. Your lessons learned from your mentor will become knowledge you always retain and then share with others.

There is no reason your journey to find a mentor need be a difficult task to accomplish. Online community groups are growing in popularity as the places to visit and share your ideas or learn new ones. Consequently, a mentor need not be one specific person, but rather a group of people willing to lend a hand. It can be a general forum, a newsgroup or a chat session; and those involved sharing a common goal to help you succeed. Seeking a mentor online is as easy as visiting any message base forum and requesting help.

Remember: "time saved, is money gained". Apply this concept with everything you do online and learn how to effectively get what you need in a shorter period of time.

A nutritionist is to health -- what a mentor is to your mind. Learning the necessary skills to achieve a balance between your personal life and your professional career is crucial in leading your business to the forefront of the industry.
