Every day you must see either one ad, one person, just something promoting those special places that put you in thousands of engines. But, are you sure that you are doing the right thing? There are thousands of engines out there, but more than half of those engines are fakes and frauds.

Your probably asking, how can I prove it; right? Well you see, there are sites out there paying other sites to put up banners and links. Some of the sites will take your money, and put your site up there on their page... sure. Although, have you ever noticed, that on some engines, you will type in a keyword, and get a list of sites. Well, on quite of few sites, if you hit the search button for the same keyword, you get a new list of sites on that category.

Now your thinking they just jumble up the links to get it fresh. Yea, sure, some sites do, but not all of them. They will tell their clients that they will always be on the page for price ranges from dollars to thousands, and all the people are doing are getting someone else's hand in their wallet. Should it be there? No.

How do you get around this problem, you ask? Go engine by engine and submit. Make sure they are safe, and you can trust them. Go to popular places. Want to go through steps? Ok.

Always go after the free engines, even if they aren't popular, cause someday they may be, and you will be at the top of their list. Get into as many free engines as you can, even big ones like Google.com and AllTheWeb.com . Make sure you get as many keywords for your site as possible, for any engine, that way your site will be displayed more. But try not to put Keywords in that don't match your site at all, cause in the crawl process, some engines check your site, and if your keywords are bad, your site wont crawl into the right place or hands.

After you got all the free sites, you should be fine. Now for the Paid Engines. One word, DON'T. Just ignore all of those engines. To put your site up the least they would have to do is type some letters and push a button and receive your money. All the free engines you got into should put you in a good position. But if you hunger for more, try to get into Top Sites Lists, Affiliate Exchanges, anything, and if you get it free, the more money you save and the happier the life.

Most paid search engines like Yahoo, are backed up by Google. Once you get listed in Google, your site should be picked up by most other search engines. This will save you time and money.
