Everywhere I go on the Web, people are desperately searching for ways to get more traffic to their websites. Some will even pay hundreds of dollars for an Express Listing in Yahoo. And yet one of the most powerful ways of driving traffic to your website is completely free and anyone can do it. "99% of them were wrong when I asked this simple question. How can you track down your competitions Super Affiliates? You know who they are, these are the people who know how to make a SALE online. But how do you find them and then persuade these SUPER Affiliates to promote your service or sell your product? Track them down and make them an offer they can't refuse! I discovered this simple trick whilst I was reading an online e-zine, the topic was "How to start a reciprocal link program". The article discussed the pros and cons of reciprocal links. It mentioned that I could use the search engines to find out who was already linking to my site to check my link popularity. What I did discover from this article was that not only could I find out who was linking to my site but I could also find out who was linking to my competitions' sites. This gave me an idea. What if I could find out who was promoting my competitor's program and approach them with a better offer. The information I needed was:- 1. Who were my competition 2. Who was actively promoting their program (the super affiliates) 3. How much traffic visited the sites of these super affiliates Step 1 Start by searching one of the search engines to see which of your competitors' web sites appear within the top ten listings. Make a note of the URL's of the top ten sites on each engine. You then need to find out who is linking to these sites and more importantly how many links these sites had linking back to them. Start by inserted this link (link:your-competitors-url.com) without the brackets, into the search box of the search engine, I used Altavista. This gives you the number of sites linking back to your competitors site. Visit the top ten sites linked to your competitors site and made a note of their URL. Step 2 You can use the same process to research how many sites were linking to these super affiliates' sites. Insert (link.your-competitors-affiliate-url.com) into the search box, this gives you the number of sites linking to the super affiliate's site. Affiliate sites with over 100 links were the most interesting, you will find the affiliates who were promoting my competitions' sites were usually portal sites, sites that had thousands of visitors per month, that's why these super affiliates were creating hundreds of new subscribers every month for my competition. Use Alexa To Double Check your Results... Since the search engine tells you how many "links in" those sites have, you have a good place to start in your quest for the super-affiliate. I also combine that by using Alexa to check each site's traffic stats... http://www.alexa.com Not only did I find my competitors' best affiliates, but I can take it a little further and find who were super affiliates for my competitors super affiliates. I now have super affiliates of my own and it didn't cost me a cent to find them. Step 3 A simple e-mail to these super affiliates can produce amazing results so "Are you going to sit there and be miserable, or are you going to take action?" "Will you join the ranks of those who fail, or are you going to put into place the things I just showed you?"
