First Business Web Site
http://www.firstbusinesswebsite.com

I started my first home business in 1994, making cute magnetic hats for 20 cents a piece. After two months I realized that I wasn't a work-at-home mom... more like a slave-at-home mom, making less than $5 an hour. What a disappointment. And this realization is not uncommon for women starting a business at home.

One of the reasons this horrific experience comes to pass is that women do not realize how many incredible opportunities there are for having a home based business via the Internet.

Six years after this first self-employment experience, after having my second child, I tried becoming a work-at-home mom again. This time my business has outgrown any expectations, any predictions and any hopes I have ever had of becoming a home-based mom.

My first order arrived in February 2001. In April of 2002 I quit my job - the job that only a few years ago (after graduating from college) I called my "dream job". My business brings as much as my salary did, I work only a few hours a day, AND I actually get to raise my children.

This is one of many common themes you hear from women in home-based businesses. But it is not the only one.

"Women own and run over one-third of the 14.2 million home-based businesses in the United States", says the IDC Research Company (www.idcresearch.com). Yet, a very small number of these women own an Internet-based business. Those who do have an online business will agree that it is the BEST home business for work-at-home mothers.

Why? Here are just a few of the benefits that other home-based businesses cannot offer you:

- It has the biggest potential at a minimum investment.

- Your business schedule is 100% flexible.

- You can work as little as 3 hours a day & still be successful.

- This is a true "home" business, work only at your computer.

- You can do just about ANYTHING you want as your business.

- All the skills you need are using a computer and the Internet.

- Any motivated mom can do it, regardless of her background.

So if an Internet business is the best home business for stay-at-home moms, why do so few mothers actually do it?

When I share with other mothers what I do, I get a polite nod, some curious questions, and a puzzled "yeah, right..." look.

Perhaps they don't know anyone who is a successful Internet business owner. Maybe they have heard all about it, but believe it's total hype. Or maybe they tried it and realized that it actually requires some effort, and is not at all the "make money while you sleep" type of business.

Most likely it's because they have no idea how to get started. Sure, they can use a computer and surf the Web... but what do you do to actually start an Internet business?

You get online and read. Do your homework. Visit forums to find out what other Internet business owners are doing to become successful. Get a mentor and emulate other successful people.

I have created a web site just for moms who want to start an Internet business. You will get answers to questions such as:

- Why should you start an Internet business?

- What should you sell online?

- What do you need to build a web site for your business?

- How to make a transition from your full-time job?

You can also download a free copy of my "Internet Business Ideas For Moms!" report to find out what kind of profitable online businesses you can build.
